Home Extensions in Wigan
Home Extensions built and managed from first dig to the finished roof.
One team, start to finish
An extension has a lot of stages. We look after all of them, so you’re not chasing different trades.
Fully managed
We build and manage the whole job, from digging the foundations to finishing the roof.
Building control sorted
We deal with Wigan Council building control and schedule the inspections at every stage of the build.
Our own team
The same in-house team quotes your job and builds it, with a tidy site and regular updates throughout.
Double Side Extension, Kitt Green, Wigan
This was a full build for us. We dug the foundations, built the extension and finished the roof, managing every stage ourselves. We dealt with Wigan Council building control and scheduled the inspections as the build went on. Here’s how it came together.
Where we started
The side of the original house before any work began.
Groundworks and foundations
Trenches dug out and the concrete foundations poured, ready for the walls.
Below-ground brickwork and floor slab
Brickwork up to ground level, drainage laid, then hardcore, damp proof membrane, insulation and reinforcement mesh before the concrete floor slab went in.
Brickwork and blockwork
The walls go up in brick on the outside and block on the inside. The brick bands on the original house were carried across so the extension sits properly with the existing building.
Steel beams
Steel beams delivered to site and fitted where the extension joins the existing house.
Floor and roof structure
First floor joists went in, then the roof trusses, with the gable end built up in brick.
